In the city of Dento, where 100% of the population have superpowers, to become a Luminary is to become a hero. Eden Blacklight, gifted with the god-like power to manifest whatever they dream into reality, uncovers a deadly secret about Dento’s education system. They now lead a misfit group called the Calamity 6, in a mission to save the children of the city from suffering. After their sister is murdered by the city’s leading Luminary, Eden’s hunt for justice leads them to a plucky young waitress named Miro, who happens to be the one person immune to Eden’s powers. But as Eden and Miro circle each other, their mutual investigation brings them closer together, until they become not rivals, not friends, but something entirely else. Will their mysterious connection prevail past enemy lines, or will it be the death of all reality?

Miro's Luminary costume took me quite a while to design. I took inspiration from traditional Chinese armour and imbued dreamcatcher motifs into the design itself, such as strings and feathers. I also chose red and gold as a colour because it would contrast Eden's blue and black themes. The red of the suit is also so that if she gets blood on herself, no one will notice - a symbol of how the Dento government is covering up the deaths of students across the country and pretending to be innocent in the eyes of the public.
