Premise:

Sage, the Great Azure Dragon of the East, takes up sailing as an exciting form of retirement! Except their crew consists of a tiny scholar with anger issues, a boy with uncanny strength and crippling anxiety, a fugitive who faked his death, and a young assassin with fish for knives.

After being shipwrecked on a beach in Singapore, it becomes clear Captain Sage is utterly incompetent to lead anything or anyone...

My Role:

It started with a bunch of pirate characters messing around in my brain, until I realised they were trying to tell a coherent story. In February 2023, I enlisted the help of two friends to co-write this 30-page screenplay, and later in July 2023, I became the director and co-producer of this production. It's been the most surreal experience, working as a team to breathe life into these characters, watching them emerge from the chicken-scratch scribbles in my notebook with such talented and biblically accurate portrayals. God, it never gets old.
